Flow Management Devices
Fourth GenerationSmall Volume Provers
We distribute Flow MD provers the World’s Leading Brand in Compact Tester Technology Development. We put the bar very high to the competition with our Fourth Generation Unidirectional Piston Tester.
Flow MD (FMD) is the technology leader in Small Volume Provers (SVP).
Flow Management Devices is currently the Technology Leader in Design, Engineering and Manufacturing of One-Way Compact Volume Testers. It began operations in 2007, with the aim of «Improving Fluid Measurement Technology». The patented design of Flow MD provides precise and fast measurement with the minimum amount of product displaced. Designed to be easy to operate, with self-diagnostics and high durability seals, built from proprietary PTFE blends.
The Secret of Success
Our unique and compact design uses pulse interpolation electronics, a patented transmission, a durable piston with carbon fiber bands, poppet valve and optical positioning sensors. Flow MD’s Small Volume Provers line incorporates Double Timing as specified in API 4.6 and meets the requirements of API 4.2 Direct Master Meter Proving.
With the recent launch of 4th Generation Calibration technology, FMD features 12 different size testers with flow ranges from 100 GPM to 24,500 GPM (142 BPH to 35,000 BPH) and a ratio of 1200:1
We have stationary Provers as well as laptops to be mounted on a trailer or trailer to do field calibrations.

Flow MD Testers can be used to Calibrate/Verify the Accuracy and Repeatability of the following types of Meters:
- MASS METERS - CORIOLIS
- POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT METERS
- TURBINE METERS
- MEDIDORES ULTRASÓNICOS
- ULTRASONIC METERS
More About Flow Management Devices (Flow MD)
A Tester is equipment with a «traceable known volume», designated to calibrate or «test» the accuracy and repeatability of a flow meter under operating conditions. Testers can be stationary (fixed) or portable and are used to calibrate and verify the accuracy and repeatability of both volumetric and mass meters. Testers are generally used in the hydrocarbon industry for custody transfer applications, where accuracy is critical.
Applications
They can be used to calibrate the different types of meters, in the following applications:
- LACT UNITS OR MEASURING SKIDS
- FILLERS AND UNLOADERS
- FPSO (FLOATING PRODUCTION STORAGE AND OFFLOADING)
- PIPELINES
- REFINERIES
- PETROCHEMICAL PLANTS
- STORAGE TERMINALS
